August 29 AD

Jesus spent most of this month in and around the lake. He reluctantly attended a meeting of influential people, a coalition of Pharisees, scribes, Sadducees, and Herodians wanting him to be king.  This puts both Jesus and themselves at serious risk of being denounced as revolutionaries. Jesus refused.   By the end of the month, he was further north in Syro-Phoenicia.  He is saying good bye as he has been since he left Kerioth in April.

Thursday, August 2, 29 AD, Valtorta 4.442. There was a mighty storm as Jesus’ group arrived in Tiberias after a rough boat trip.

Judas met Jesus as the latter waited for news of his mother’s arrival.  Judas avoided Jesus’ plea for what we would call confession. Judas says as Jesus is God, he knows it is painful for a man to confess. Jesus promises to defend him who he says is looking for peace where he cannot find it.

They go to the poor quarter to the disciple Joseph’s house.  Jesus gets Peter to tell a parable about soiled vines that are refreshed and cleansed by rain.

The Iscariot points out that humanity is always soiled by the world. John says humanity can be cleansed by the way of love.

Mary and the women arrive from Nazareth. But it quickly transpires Mary wants to go back there with Jesus to save a soul that Jesus seems reluctant to save. Jesus says the man is a matricide and delirious with remorse.

Mary admits that the man is a monster but insists with an eloquent plea for the late mother’s love.  Eventually, Jesus agrees and sends for the man to meet him in Capernaum.

Friday, August 3, 29 AD. Valtorta 4.444.  Jesus and the group sail to Capernaum where Marjiam gets a special welcome from Peter’s wife Porphirea. Jesus was greeted by so many that he diverted from going to the Apostle Thomas’ house where he normally stayed when in Capernaum.

Valtorta 4.445. Jesus laments a falloff in the numbers coming to hear him in Capernaum. Valtorta infers Jesus had some problems with some Pharisees but she quotes Jesus saying that the word of God cannot bear fruit in upset hearts.  He demands forgiveness and tolerance towards his critics.

He quotes from the Book of Kings, Chronicles, and Jeremiah about national disasters following in the wake of nations deserting the law of God.

He is heckled by an elderly pharisee who has opposed both him and the Baptist. The heckler is arrested by a Centurion but is later is released because Jesus requested it.

But the apostles Peter, Mathew, and Thomas incur Jesus’ wrath by saying the old man should be punished,

Saturday, August 4, 29 AD. In the evening, they sail towards Magdala when in a moment of carelessness Peter almost capsizes the boat and is scorned by his and the Roman flotillas on the lake.

Later Jesus speaks to the flotillas and uses Peter’s misadventure as a parable about judgment and good and bad will. He says forgiveness is necessary only when there is fault – there is only fault when there is will to sin.

Jesus again counsels against rash judgments with examples of how apparent offenses are simply the right thing to do.  God does not judge as men do.

But the mariners agreed that the boatman had failed in his duty and therefore sinned!

Jesus says one must always distinguish. God opens his heart to everyone, He is the Father.

They returned to Capernaum.

Sunday, August 5, 29 AD. They left Capernaum for Hippos in the late afternoon. They crossed the lake and stayed in a hamlet where they cured a huge number of people.

Tuesday, August 7, 29 AD.  Arrived in Hippo in the morning. As they wait for the market to end Jesus asks about the wealth of the town. He asks how such a prosperous town can have so many beggars and points the doctrine of love requires those better off to help the less well-off.

Rich people are the ministers of providence.  He says that Sodom could have been saved if it had only ten just people and pleads with the people to save its own town.

He quotes Isaiah pleading for people to come to him, one that gives without asking.

He is invited to many homes but chooses to stay with a group of over a hundred poor, a huge proportion of whom are seriously ill or handicapped.  He cures them with a word that evokes a question from a Roman if Jesus teaching and curing is only for Israelites.

When Jesus says his kingdom is for everybody, the man asks for his lifelong slave to be cured. Suddenly the Roman is called by name by an elderly man is running to him, saying I am cured.

They left that evening. They slept in the open, and women slept in a cave.

Wednesday, August 8, 29 AD. Valtotra 4.453. Jesus rose at dawn (5 am) to pray.  He is joined by Mary who asks Jesus to seek a favour from The Father. Jesus says you are the living praise of God and have been thanking since…to which she says she seems unable to thank him enough.

Mary talks about their dreaded hour. Jesus asks her to take care of the apostles and the church saying that this is his inheritance for her, I entrust it to you, be her nurse.

Mother, let them be all under your mantle.  You will be able to change punishment decrees because the Trinity will be unable to deny you anything.  She promises him this, saying you may go to your goal in peace.

They go to Gamala outside of which Jesus addresses slave prisoners and the townspeople on the will of God.  He stresses that the most effective defence of people and places is through supernatural virtues achieved in individuals who work to sanctify themselves.

Man, who can be killed by the bite of a fly, cannot defend himself from the wrath of God.  No past prevents the present that waits in heaven for those who serve the Lord.

To serve the Lord is love.  The will of God is hidden in the most simple human things, even in punishments inflicted by human law.

He says all frontiers will disappear before the one King and only those of goodwill will enter it. Only those who try to deceive God with false obedience to the Decalogue will be excluded.

He goes through the town, curing the sick.  He stays the night there.

Thursday, August 9, 29 AD, Valtorta 4.454.  They go to Afiq by a mountainous route where he is welcomed by the wealthy widow who had hoped to adopt the unwanted child.   He preached there in what was more of a question-and-answer session in which a multicultural crowd asked, debated, and argued about Jesus’ role and teachings.

He reminds people of the Hebrew’s revolt at Meribah and calls himself the sign of contradiction. He proclaims himself as the universal spiritual king and that people must choose freely whether to accept or reject Him.  It is their choice.

Friday. August 10, 29 AD

They moved on to near Lake Galilee at Gergesa where he is asked to heal a man whom he had been previously healed but who had reverted to a dreadful behaviour.  Jesus insisted that the man’s wife and later her husband choose between life and death where death would lead to eternal life and health to damnation.  They chose death.

Jesus then talked about the importance of neighbours loving the repentant by not reminding them of their past by insinuations that could well drive them back into previous ways.

Later, Jesus said there are times when death is a gift to prevent damnation.

They did not stay long as they wanted to be in Capernaum when the threatened storm broke.

When Jesus was back in Capernaum, Judas was there with Simeon, the Nazarene matricide, Jesus had been asked to heal.  Jesus was somewhat severe with the man but as he had been asked by two mothers he healed and warned him. When the man thanked Jesus, he was told thank my mother it was through her intercession.

Judas was rude to Jesus and then absented himself from the group for a while.

Saturday, August 11, 29 AD. Valtorta 4.458.  Bartholomew and Jesus wondered about the mother whose child had been with the group.  She had not come for him.

Jesus healed a number of people and asked them not to tell anyone that he had healed on the Sabbath as it would be used against him.

His cousin Joseph leads a delegation of Pharisees to him who ask him to come to Judea. He criticises him for spending time in Galilee rather than Judea. The delegation admits they have been sent telling him that he is dividing the nation.  Jesus responds that he will do God’s will, which is to unite into one flock only.

His cousin gives Jesus some advice which Jesus seems to regard as naïve and sends him packing.

Later his mother asks him if his hour had come and extracts a promise from him that he would tell her when the time comes.

In the evening Jesus and the group sailed to Tiberias.

In the garden of Herod’s chief executive, Chusa, Jesus discusses the politics that his preaching has ignited.

  1. Israel expect the Messiah and the promised King of Israel to be a secular king who will free his people from the Romans;
  2. Such an event scares the incumbent establishment of Romans, Herod and his brother King Philip, to say nothing of the religious establishment;
  3. The Sanhedrin whose focus on rules and regulations makes ruling the place somewhat easier. Theologically it never occurred to them that the Messiah would be God himself incarnate. They were incapable of accepting it.

The Romans recognise that Jesus is not a threat to them but the native establishment cannot.  To make matters worse, Jesus keeps denouncing their interpretations of the law, and consorts with known sinners, the poor, and the uneducated.

Only a handful of establishment figures accept him, a few Sanhedrin members, a son of the former Governor of Syria (Lazarus of Bethany), two leading members of Herod’s government, and a bunch of Roman ladies and some brave leaders of synagogues.  Though the crowds love him because he cures their illnesses by either the power of God or of Satan depending on which faction one listens to.

These powers make him a formidable presence.  His denunciations of the know-alls in Jerusalem delights the crowds and drives the elite mad.

The apostle Judas Iscariot is forever trying to stop Jesus from annoying the people who can destroy him which Judas believes will prevent him from becoming ruler of Israel.

An expected visitor delivers a letter from Syntyche in Antioch.  Jesus reads and sheds a tear- John of Endor has died.  Jesus reads part of her letter to the group but he refrains from reading it all to them. He later shares it with his mother who agreed with his decision to withhold the full contents from Peter who really tried to bully it out of Jesus. He did not read it all to the group because Syntyche identified Judas as a traitor in no uncertain terms.

She also accepted that Jesus would die soon as he had told John of Endor he would die shortly after him.

Editor; The letter was beautifully written and on its own would justify finding Volume 4 of the Poem of the Man-God chapter 459.

Sunday, August 12, 29 AD.  Valtorta 4.461. Jesus and the five apostles leave Tiberias on foot.  They go through the thermal springs where he cures the sick and impresses a multicultural audience challenging them to believe his power comes from God.

They walked for two to three hours to Tarichea. Jesus gave an impassioned speech emphasising that God is the God of all people and explained that Christ is anointed and consecrated to unite people in a kingdom following his law of love, not new laws but superhuman moral laws.

Jesus comments that religion is a necessity for mankind and faith is a permanent state where incredulity is an abnormality. He stressed that his kingdom was one of hearts and is within each person of goodwill. The Kingdom of heaven is open to all men of goodwill through his sacrifice.

Afterwards, he went alone, in spite of Peter’s fierce protests, to Khuza’s estate where a cross-community delegation demanded that he take over the state of Israel.  The delegation of the good, the bad, and the ugly agreed that Israel needed a new start.

When Jesus refused their request, the delegation felt betrayed knowing that they could be found guilty of plotting a revolt. Jesus recognised this was a much more serious danger to him as well, more than the previous demand of the crowds for him to be king.

Jesus recognised the good intentions of many but left no doubt that the intentions of the majority were prompted by a mixture of misunderstandings of the role of the Messiah. political strategy and self-interest.  Great anger and confusion broke out as Jesus left the meeting and disappeared

Editor: In a comment on the vision Valtorta quotes Jesus saying that this was one of ‘Satan’s hours’ for him.

Monday, August 13, 29 AD.  Valtorta 4.463. Jesus sailed to Bethsaida where he told Peter’s wife Porphyrea, that this was his last visit to Bethsaida.  He told her to ensure that Marjiam did not to go to Jerusalem for Passover.

He told her he would be sacrificed.  He took Marjiam with him to Capernaum.

His cousin James noticed that something had changed Jesus.’ He asked him what it was but Jesus did not confide in him. He just said he was going to say goodbye to some friends.  This prompted James to ask are we not coming back, to which Jesus said you will be.

He goes to see an elderly couple, and gives a sermon on the theme that wealth is for redistribution (Valtorta 4.465) to the less well-off and the poor, particularly for widows and orphans. He gives severe and conditional forgiveness to the man who had rejected two orphans.

Confession, an episode of mercy

Valtorta 4.466. Late at night to early morning, Jesus is in solitary prayer when he Is joined by Judas. The conversation begins cautiously. Judas inching his way like one that is hurting.  Judas is desperate complaining of his flesh howling like a demon. He complains about how hard it is to say I have sinned which Jesus suggests is a good reason for not sinning. The pain in itself is a redeeming feature even if it is from fear of punishment. but he says sorrow for causing sin is cancelled.

Jesus mentions that people confess their problems to medical people without fear. Confession should be without fear.

He asks Judas to identify what puts him into the hands of the demon. Jesus says it is not other people nor corrupt women but his will. Jesus asks him to come to him who forgives and cures every time..

In a comment on the vision Jesus says that every fall has its roots in a previous fall, the graver the fall the longer was its preparation. Ascents require prolonged patience. Descents are a consequence of insidious factors.

One does not arrive at satanic delirium unless one is completely corrupted by Hellish habits which take years to acquire. However, he adds, one is still capable of expiation as some parts of the heart are free of infernal poison.

Tuesday, August 14, 29 AD.  Vatorta 4.466.  Jesus went northwest to the mountains of Giskhala.  Peter reminds Jesus of their last hostile visit there. Jesus said that they have changed their approach to him.  He warns the group that they (apostles) are servants of God and that they must be wise and beware of those who will try to exploit their weaknesses.

Our enemies are cunning, and catch people on their weak points. He talks of absolving them before he leaves them which upsets Andrew.  This prompts Jesus to say not yet but he would tell them in advance.

Friday, August 17, 29 AD. Near Giskhala, Jesus talks of generational differences to a jealous mother-in-law during which he explains the fourth commandment applies after marriage and that it was made a law in Moses’ time to protect parents after their children’s marriage.

Philip enthusiastically quotes triumphant utterings of the prophets to which Jesus says he wished he understood, time flies, he says, but Philip thinks Jesus can slow down time but Jesus insists the Father wants it as it is.

They are greeted by two disciples of Gamaliel who invite him to the village where they spend the Sabbath.  Afterwards, Jesus is asked about a moral problem involving adultery, child abandonment, and murder and talks of the primacy of love in making moral judgments.

Saturday, August 18, 29 AD. Jesus and group went to Syro-Phoenicia till early September.
