February 29 AD

Jesus spends most of the month around Lake Gaililee and later on the eastern side of the Jordan valley. This month sees Peter made chief of the Apostles but the high point is undoubtedly the Transfiguration. The low point is his rejection by the rabbis at Ghiskala and his disappointment at the unbelief at Korazim and the declining relationship with Judas Iscariot. He walked at least two hundred miles in the month.
Saturday, February 3, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.336 –337. At Korazim Jesus is persuaded to talk in the synagogue. The leadership’s motives do not appear to be good. Jesus tells a parable suggesting some material is impossible to work with and baldly says the citizens of Korazim suffer from a pestilence of unbelief. When Jesus cures a lady they are scandalised at his ‘breaking’ of the Sabbath whereupon Jesus calls them hypocrites as in Lk 13.
He then headed north for Tsefat to meet the other eight apostles who report their adventures and miracles. Jesus said he had sown seeds that would bloom in Korazim and told the parable of fig tree Lk 13.
Later as they approach a village Jesus privately ask Judas why he stays and is told that he (Judas) feels attracted to Jesus even though Jesus disgusts him as Jesus has ruined himself in the eyes of the world for being a cowardly king. Judas asks Jesus why he does not cure him and is told that there is no repentance in him – only hatred of God.
Sunday, February 4, 29 AD. Valtorta Vol 3.339. John reports that he found Jesus weeping. The apostles wonder why but Thadeus has no doubt, it is Judas, he says, there is something wrong with him, he is either mad or possessed.
As they headed for Meiron, Jesus and Bartholomew talk about Hillel and other great rabbis. Jesus says they (the great rabbis) were spared seeing the hatred he has experienced, more hate than love and it will always be so.
They are joined by Judas, who had spent the night with a prostitute, instead of where he was supposed to stay. Jesus and he discuss Judas’ strange morality in which he believed he needed to sin to understand sinners. Jesus says innocence is wisdom and angels guard it and lead the innocent. He says sin reduces the capacity to enjoy other spiritual favours.
Sinners no longer have the angel of God, a spirit of love and order. Instead have an angel of Satan leading to greater disorder.
They are enthusiastically received at Meiron after which they go to rabbinical city of Giskhala where they were not. Rabbis threw rocks wounding them. Jesus receives a gash on the back of his hand, James of Alpheus is hit on the side of his head. James of Zebedee and Andrew are also injured. Jesus silences the hostile crowd of almost a hundred and walks away having told them in no uncertain manner that the great rabbis would have cursed them.
Monday, February 5, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.340. Evangelising between Giskhala and Qedesh. ‘when the Galilean apostles suggest that the rabbis who attacked them must be Judeans Jesus quickly reminds them that he was driven out of Nazareth a few months ago. He said, hate is hate, have nothing to do with it. Jesus’ hand is so painful that he has to ask Mathew to tie his sandals. He stops at a house and asks to wash his wound which is bleeding. He asks to see a deaf mute they would like healed. They stay the night there.
Tuesday, February 6, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.341 Jesus preached in the square at Qedesh and later in the synagogue. He was denounced by rabbis who demanded signs from God to prove he is the Messiah and Son of God.
They say there have been too many false prophets, they want a sign such as raising a decomposed body to life. They are referred to Jonah and told to read the signs of the times. Mt 16.
They ate at a small inn where they were joined by those who had heard him and asked to continue his interrupted sermon on Habakkuk. Afterwards, Judas admitted that he had told the rabbis that they were going to Qedesh. They walked till about ten or eleven that night.
Wednesday, February 7, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.342. At dawn they head for Caesarea Philippi, near Paneas crossing the Jordan by boat.
Peter is hungry and he regrets there are no grains of wheat but only grass and flowers, he says, I am neither a sheep nor a bee. Jesus reminds them about the loaves and fishes.
He refers to the leaven of the Pharisees which can infect good people who being defeated in argument let some of their critics’ doctrine into their souls.
Jesus reverts to the demand for signs and again refers to Jonah and offers the sign of a decomposed body being resurrected and another of one who is dead raising himself.
He greets children who say they recognise him because of his being good, curing a parent, he loves everyone, handsome, make bad people good and one four-year-old who says his soul knows him.
Jesus quizzed the apostles about who he was, Mt 16, and listens to their account of what the people say including of a rumour that the Baptist had not been murdered and was alive. Jesus asks for their honest opinion of him which is replied to by Peter.
Jesus explains that Peter had been addressing the question to himself from the moment they met and his conclusion was arrived at before he ever saw any of Jesus’ miracles.
He appointed Peter as their chief and told the others to respect and obey him as they did him. They stayed in Caesarea and set out for Jerusalem the next day.
Thursday, February 8, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.345. Between Caesarea and Lake Hulah the Nazerine apostles talk about Mary. Jesus commented only those with perfect faith and love will understand the true meaning of the name Mary. But he said this meaning will only be revealed in the hours of her torture and his.
After lunch he returns to Mary’s never disappointing God, adding that only when she and he have accomplished the supreme sacrifice will the true faithful understand the meaning of Mary.
He says every mother cries but his mother will cry more than any. This shocks the apostles who are told every man who has or will live costs my mother tears because everyone redeemed costs me suffering.
The disciples grapple with this and argue over the concepts of the redeemer suffering, dying and rising.
Eventually Jesus puts the matter beyond doubt – he will suffer in Jerusalem, will be tortured in his body, blood and spirit. My heart will be pierced by falsehood and hatred.
Later Peter remonstrates you will never allow yourself to be treated as a criminal. Jesus crushes him totally. Peter is inconsolable. But Jesus tells them all his rebuke to Peter was merited by them all for they all thought the same. My death will give you life, he said.
Eventually Peter’s brother Andrew goes to Jesus and after a long exchange Jesus agrees to receive Peter and is tearfully reconciled. Jesus then explains that everyman must take his cross and warns that they should never be ashamed of his words or doctrine. Mt16. They walked much of the night.
Friday, February 9, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.346. At dawn they approach Bethsaida, almost running in the lovely morning sun. They meet Margziam (Note 1.) and as Peter and his son go to meet his wife Porphyria,. Andrew comments that they look like Abraham and Isaac.
This remark leads Jesus to say that they will be martyred, in fact, all but one will be martyred. Mk 8.
He cures a blind man but tells him to tell no one as he does not want crowds rushing him this morning.
Sunday, February 11, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.347. They went to Capernaum where Jesus was surrounded by children when Manean(3) arrived with the shepherd disciples.
Manean told of increasing alarm in Herod’s palace in Jerusalem about the increasing popularity of Jesus. Manean came to offer protection to Jesus and his group as he feared it was necessary. But Jesus told him he would go by a secret route to Jerusalem.
He asked Manean to travel with the women disciples and to give them protection.
They then sailed to Magdala where they refreshed themselves in Mary Magdala’s magnificent gardens
Monday, February 12, 29 AD. At Tiberias the women disciples were given a carriage to go to Jerusalem for the Passover. They went through Cana.
The women from Bethsaida included Peter’s wife Porphirea, Nathaniel’s wife, Salome, and Philip’s wife and two daughters. Johanna (4) with her two daughters (5) Joined them in Tiberias and by Susanna and her husband at Cana from thence to Nazareth.
Susanna (bride of the wedding) and Johanna bring roses for Jesus’ mother. The other women bring presents and foods for the journey.
Tuesday, February 13, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.347. At Nazareth. Jesus then reveals to the apostles and the others what Mary calls the secrets of the King – the secret of the incarnation, the primacy of Mary in the order of creation. Jesus says that a soul exists from the moment God thinks of it. He said Mary existed ‘ever-lasting’ and applies the phrases from Wisdom to her.
Wednesday, February 14, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.348. Jesus takes Peter, James and John up Mt Tabor. They ask for a rest and tell Jesus there are no houses on the top, they clearly question the purpose of the haste.
Peter has difficulty keeping up with Jesus and asks for a rest and tells Jesus there are no houses on the top, clearly question the purpose of the haste.
Jesus says one always goes quickly to an appointment with God and continues up the mountain.
On a plateau below the summit Jesus tells his companions to rest and he goes to pray near a rock. The men make themselves comfortable and start to drowse when strong light arouses them.
Valtorta says Jesus looked as he does in Paradise but without wounds. He is raised above the ground. Peter says he is in ecstasy and they wonder what he is seeing. He is joined by Moses and Elijah both of whom look severe, Elijah is described as lean and as emaciated as the Baptist. Valtorta records that she did not understand a single word they spoke to Jesus with both familiarity and reverence.
The visions look at Peter when he calls but then, they disappear. The voice of God resounds but when they recover there is no one there, only Jesus, the usual Jesus with his red mantle.
Jesus talks of his rising from the dead and that though Elijah has already come, he will come again but those who teach revelation do not understand it and did not recognise him or the signs of the times.
On the way down Peter asks Jesus why did you do that? He described the fourfold fright they got, the bright light, the levitation, the prophets and the voice of God. But the awesome experience was counteracted by the talk of torture and death.
Jesus said that the remembrance of his glory would help them when the worst had happened. When Jesus told them to tell no one, Peter says it would be useless to tell anyone – they would not believe it and say we were drunk.
Later Jesus said those who share his grief must share his joy a well. I show super human visions to enable superhuman deeds, I make you partners in my work. We will be equals in our work, grief and glory.
They returned to Nazareth. Where they discuss the healing of the boy at the foot of Mt Tabor, Jesus remarks that every disease and disorder may conceal Satan. He says the boy was not possessed but the Demon wanted to make him curse God, the boy was ill but not possessed.
Thursday, February 15, 29 AD. They travel through Cana and the disciples go on through Esdrelon but Jesus and apostles go to Tiberias where they overnight.
Friday, February 16, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.350. They rent two boats in Tiberias to sail to Capernaum. Judas complains to Thomas that they have no money left. Jesus asserts that it is good to be penniless and to depend on providence. On shore, Peter was asked about the Temple tax. He does as Jesus asked, Mt 17, and makes the apostles laugh when he mimics the tax collectors’ annoyance at his paying the tax for both Jesus and himself.
That afternoon they sailed to Magdala where Jesus cured a former lover of Mary Magdala who had sent for Jesus at the Magdalen’s request. The apostles are fascinated by this man whom Mathew says he knew for a fact that he was a sinner.
Jesus agrees but is so happy that the apostles are surprised. Jesus says simply his sins no longer exist. He told them the man’s apostle was a woman and names Mary Magdalen as that apostle.
They then walked back to Capernaum where he stayed at the home of the apostle Thomas.
Jesus hears the apostles discussing their relative positions and reacts by telling them to become as little children, Mt 18. Jesus says children are like himself – innocent and are sacred as God is present in them. He makes dire predictions for those who abuse them.
February 17 and 18, Jesus and apostles preach east of the lake of Tiberias.
Tuesday, February 20, 29 AD. A big crowd is following Jesus for three days.
Thursday, February 22, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.352. In the evening Jesus reminded the large crowd that sin can undo blessings. Every sin is a disease, evil deeds destroy peace.
Afterwards, he performs the second miracle of loaves and fishes. Mt 15. It was similar to the one he did the previous August near Tarichea at the other end of the lake.
After this vision Jesus comments to Valtorta: I give everything but you cannot assimilate the nourishment that is in my word. But the Holy Spirit works this miracle for you, enlightens you and multiplies its most secret meanings. He confirms what John said about the whole world not being able to contain the record of all he did, we do not even read the little book (Gospels) that contains the essentials we have known since our youth.
That night they sailed to the western shore of the lake.
Friday, February 23, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.353. Boatloads arrive in Capernaum from Tiberias looking for Jesus Jn 6 to find Jesus had left heading east. They found him in Capernaum, Jesus spoke in the synagogue about the bread of Life. Jn 6.
He talks of nourishment of the soul pointing out that our bodies are disposable but our souls are our being. He will always give us the nourishing food that will enable us to do the works of God.
He emphasises that knowing something is very different from living it. To know is not the same as practicing it. The basic work necessary is to believe in whom God sent, to rise before the sun. The bread that removes all languor and gives life.
He talks about Manna in detail before launching into the necessity of eating his flesh which enables people to do what He wants, abstain from sin, and live austerely and ardently. We are to feed on his word.
We must seek the gifts of God at the beginning of the day. Faith is a gift from God to people of good will. Faith is necessary to be come to Jesus, God instructs people where to go to be taught by God.
He then launches into the necessity to eat his flesh which provokes his hearers. At the end of his discourse the number of his disciples has noticeably diminished.
Saturday, February 24, 29 AD. Valtorta 3.354. A quiet sabbath as most of the inhabitants have left for Jerusalem. He welcomes a disciple sent by John of Endor from Antioch.
Jesus is at Thomas’ house, upset by all who do not come to him.
The apostles have gone to Hippos, a Greek settlement on the east of the lake. But they do not stay as their enemies had gathered there to oppose them.
Sunday, February 25, 2 AD. Valtorta 3.355. Jesus and apostles cross river Yarmuk and headed for Gadara. When John asked Jesus if hot water of the thermal springs came from hell Judas announced aggressively that he had overcome his belief in the nonsense of hell and Satan.
The Apostles were scandalised. Judas asked Jesus to confirm his opinion Jesus answered with thunderous No. Later when Judas embraced him Jesus whispered you don’t know Satan because you are one with him.
Monday, February 26, 29AD. Valtorta 3.356. Jesus and John prayed most of the night. Jesus presses John to talk about Judas. Reluctantly John says that Judas tries to tempt him, is obsessed with women, that he keeps a second purse, and that he practises witchcraft.
Before coming down from the roof-terrace they recited the Our Father three times.
Later on a Roman officer tells Jesus that he has been denounced as an agitator and is warned against preaching sedition.
They are asked about divorce by the emissaries of the Pharisees. Mt 19. Jesus strongly rejects divorce as an option for the married. Jesus repeated his teaching at The Mount twelve months earlier. The married apostles are not the only ones amazed at this teaching.
Later they went to Pella where Jesus heals a youth and his mother of blindness during which he learned the boy from whom he cast out devils has turned against him.
He promises to help him again but in conversation with his mother he reveals he, Jesus, is indeed to die as the possessed son have been saying.
It is increasingly obvious that Jesus’ future passion is pressing on his consciousness.
They are denied hospitality in Yahesh-Gelead, six miles from Pella which they later found in an old man’s house.
The people of Pella and Yahesh Gelead realise their mistake and come inviting Jesus to return to their villages but he declines and does not speak to them saying healing two blind people was a sermon in itself.
Tuesday, February 27, 29 AD. Bad weather. They left Pella at noon. The weather and route was appalling. The apostles are in foul humour and are bickering, grumbling about the weather, the route, and by not going by a different route.
John calls his colleagues prophets of things that are past.
Editor: Valtorta says this took place in March another example of the calendar expert differing from Valtorta. Prof Aulagnier attributes this to a different growing climate in the below sea level of the Jordan Valley.
Note 1. Margziam was the orphaned grandson of Jonah, one of the shepherd witnesses of Jesus’ birth. He was a virtual slave to Doras, a rich and cruel Pharisee. Jesus entrusted Margziam to Peter and Porpheria
Note 2. Both people and places often have multiple names and the same name can have multiple spellings.
Note 3. Manean is Herod’s half-brother.
Note 4. Johanna is the wife of Herod’s chief executive Khuza.
Note 5. These were the two orphans rescued by Jesus.
